Hello Pete. You may be interested in this on the BBC iPlayer. The American Future: A History, by Simon Schama: American Fervour. One or two direct references to Obama - but it is an hour!
Interesting quote from same programme, "I don't believe the answer's in the Whitehouse. I believe it's in our homes. We're making the decisions. You can't legislate morality. You can't pass laws to make people better. But we almost look at a Presidential candidate sometimes as a saviour that can come and rescue our country." Pastor Johnny Hunt.
The quote continues with a religious theme, but I only appreciate this first bit.
